Challenge

Design a cloud-based platform that uses explanatory machine learning algorithms to map brain network activity in order to extract biological insights that can be translated into precision therapies. The therapies are delivered by a non-invasive portable medical device that generates a frequency-tuned low-intensity electromagnetic field.

Outcome

A cloud-based platform for mapping brain network activity and extracting biological insights that can be translated into precision therapies. The therapies are delivered by a noninvasive portable medical device that generates a frequency-tuned low-intensity electromagnetic field. The FDA granted the company breakthrough status for its device to reduce disability after a stroke in February 2021. The designation, based on BrainQ's most recent randomized controlled clinical trial results for ischemic stroke patients, will allow BrainQ to collaborate with the FDA to expedite the device's development and clearance process.
